Diagnostic Aids

Remove any debris from PCM connector surfaces before servicing PCM. Inspect PCM connector gaskets when diagnosing or replacing modules. Ensure gaskets are installed correctly. Gaskets prevent contaminate intrusion into PCM.

To adjust extended travel brake switch, perform the following:

• With brake pedal depressed, insert brakelight switch into retainer until switch body seats in retainer. You can hear clicks as you push threaded portion of switch through retainer.
• Slowly pull brake pedal fully rearward against stop until you can no longer hear clicks.
