Removal & Installation

  1. Using Trim Pad/Garnish Clip Remover (J-38778), remove push-in retainers from left instrument panel insulator. Remove courtesy light from insulator. Pull insulator forward from stud at accelerator pedal, and remove left instrument panel insulator.
  2. Remove bolts/screws from bottom of steering column opening filler. Pull steering column opening filler rearward and upward to unsnap, and remove it from instrument panel.
  3. Disconnect Driver Information Center (DIC) harness connector. Using small flat-blade tool, depress retainers on DIC. Remove DIC from steering column filler.
  4. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten instrument panel cluster trim plate screws to 18 INCH lbs. (2 N.m).
