Inside Automatic Day/Night Mirror Operation
With the ignition switch in RUN position, ignition 3 voltage is supplied through HVAC fuse to inside rearview mirror. Inside rearview mirror uses 2 photocell sensors to determine light conditions in front and back of vehicle. At night, with automatic day/night feature enabled, mirror automatically darkens to reduce glare from headlights from behind. In daytime, mirror is in normal state. With gear selector lever in Reverse, back-up light supply voltage is supplied as an input to inside rearview mirror. Inside rearview mirror will gradually change to a normal state as a result of back-up light supply voltage input. Ground for inside rearview mirror is provided by a ground point located in trunk, below right of rear window trim panel. Inside rearview mirror will also darken left outside rearview mirror. Inside rearview mirror supplies a low reference circuit and a signal circuit to the left outside rearview mirror.
