Horns Diagnostic System Check (Grand PRIX)

  1. If vehicle is equipped with content theft deterrent, go to next step. If vehicle is not equipped with content theft deterrent, repair horn system as necessary.
  2. Attempt to enter Body Control Module (BCM) diagnostic mode. See ENTERING SELF-DIAGNOSTICS MODE under BODY CONTROL MODULE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK in BODY CONTROL MODULES - GRAND PRIX article. If BCM enters diagnostic mode, go to next step. If BCM does not enter diagnostic mode, go to BODY CONTROL MODULE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK BODY CONTROL MODULES - GRAND PRIX article.
  3. If BCM displays any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC), go to next step. If BCM does not display any DTCs, repair horn system as necessary. See SYMPTOM INDEX  table under SYSTEM TESTS.
  4. If BCM displays DTC 007, go to DTC 007: HORN RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO BATTERY VOLTAGE OR GROUND  under DIAGNOSTIC TESTS. If BCM displays any DTC other than DTC 007, go to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS in BODY CONTROL MODULES - GRAND PRIX article.
