Removal & Installation: Thermostat: Installation
- Install the thermostat.
- Install the thermostat housing and the gasket to the intake manifold.NOTE: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the thermostat housing bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the thermostat housing bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).
- Install the exhaust crossover pipe.
- Install the AIR pipe.
- Connect the radiator hose to the thermostat housing.
- Use the Hose Clamp Pliers (J 38185) in order reposition and install the hose clamp at the thermostat housing.
- Carefully install the throttle body air inlet duct.
- Fill the cooling system. Refer to COOLING SYSTEM BLEEDING .
- Inspect the system for leaks.
