DTC B0600: Option Content Failure: Description

Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) calibrations are stored in Electronically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM). When vehicle is first turned on, IPC performs internal tests on EEPROM to determine integrity of its non-volatile memory.

DTC B0600 will set when IPC has 3 consecutive unsuccessful attempts at writing to its own non-volatile memory and detects an internal memory malfunction (write error) when ignition is first turned on. When DTC B0600 is set, SERVICE VEHICLE SOON indicator will illuminate.

A current DTC B0600 becomes a history DTC after an ignition cycle. A history DTC B0600 will clear after 100 consecutive ignition cycles if condition for setting DTC is no longer present. DTC will also clear when scan tool is used to clear DTCs.
