Circuit Description

Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) receives a vehicle speed input from Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) through class 2 data line from Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to drive speedometer/odometer.

Season odometer displays total accumulated mileage of vehicle, which is permanently stored in IPC Electronically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM). Trip odometer displays accumulated mileage (in tenths of miles) since last reset. This information is stored in IPC Keep Alive Memory (KAM).

DTC B0570 will set when IPC detects an internal fault to speedometer/odometer. When DTC B0570 is set, odometer will display ERROR.

A current DTC B0570 becomes a history DTC after an ignition cycle. A history DTC B0570 will clear after 100 consecutive ignition cycles if condition for setting DTC is no longer present. DTC will also clear when scan tool is used to clear DTCs.
