Air Bag Indicator

IPC illuminates air bag indicator when one of the following occurs:

• Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system Sensing And Diagnostic Module (SDM) detects a malfunction with SIR system. IPC receives a class 2 message from SDM requesting illumination.
• IPC performs displays test at start of each ignition cycle. IPC flashes air bag indicator 7 times.
• IPC detects a loss of class 2 communications with SDM.
