Audible Warning Chimes: Notes

IPC sends an audible warning chimes request through class 2 serial data line to Body Control Module (BCM) to alert driver that an associated IPC indicator is illuminated. Audible warning chimes alert driver about a system concern or a critical vehicle condition. BCM generates audible warning chimes based on a request through class 2 serial data line or as determined by BCM in some instances, such as key-in ignition or headlights ON reminder. If BCM receives multiple audible warning requests, warning with highest priority sounds first. Pulse rate and audible warning priority list follows:

• Fast rate chime (200 pulses per minute).
• Medium rate chime (150 pulses per minute).
• Slow rate chime (50 pulses per minute).
• Single chime.
