MULTIFUNCTION Switch: Removal
- Ensure turn signal lever is in center of OFF position. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disable air bag system. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. Remove steering wheel. See STEERING WHEEL
.
- Remove upper and lower steering column shrouds. Remove wiring harness straps necessary to disengage steering column wiring harness from steering column. Disconnect steering column electrical connector from vehicle wiring harness.
- Disconnect multifunction switch connectors from SIR coil assembly. Disconnect Gray and Black multifunction switch connectors from steering column bulkhead connector. Remove 2 pan head tapping screws multifunction switch mounting screws. See Fig 1
. Remove multifunction switch.
