Removal & Installation

Disable SIR system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM  . Remove tilt lever. Place steering column in center position. Place steering column and Modular Column Holding Fixture (J-41352) into a vise. Inspect steering column for damage. Remove screws and lower trim cover from upper trim cover. Tilt and lower trim cover down and slide backward in order to disengage locking tabs. Remove screws and upper trim cover from steering column. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten nuts and bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
