Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the lighter fuse. Refer to CIRCUIT PROTECTION DEVICES in COMPONENT LOCATIONS.
  2. Remove the lighter element.
  3. Remove the lighter socket by placing one side of the T portion of the J 42059  into the opening in the socket. Position the other side of the tool into the opposite opening. Pull the socket straight out.

  4. Remove the J 42059  from the socket.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the socket.

  6. Remove the retainer.
