DTC B2964: Key-In Ignition Circuit Open Or Short To Ground: Description

Body Control Module (BCM) uses a key-in-ignition input in order to control certain vehicle features. These features are in following systems (if equipped): audible warnings, automatic door locks and theft deterrent. BCM detects a key in ignition switch when key-in-ignition signal circuit is low. DTC B2964 will set if BCM detects Ignition 0 (IGN 0) circuit voltage input is active (high signal) and key-in-ignition input is inactive (high signal) for more than 3 seconds.

A current DTC B2964 becomes a history DTC if condition for setting DTC is no longer present. A history DTC B2964 will clear after 100 consecutive ignition cycles if condition for setting DTC is no longer present. DTC will also clear when scan tool is used to clear DTCs.
