Coolant Temp, Door/Trunk Ajar, Or PERF Shift Indicator Malfunctioning
- If instrument panel cluster diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If instrument panel cluster diagnostic system check was not performed, go to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- Connect scan tool. Using scan tool, check for instrument panel cluster DTCs. If no DTCs exist, go to next step. If any DTCs exist, go to SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM .
- Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using scan tool, command faulty indicator to turn on. If indicator illuminates, go to next step. If indicator does not illuminate, go to step 5 .
- Ensure ignition switch is in ON position. Using scan tool, command faulty indicator to turn off. If indicator turns off, go to next step. If indicator does not turn off, locate and repair problem in Body Control Module (BCM) system. See appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article.
- Replace instrument panel cluster. See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
