DTC B1015: VIN Information Error: Description

DTC B1015 indicates VIN information stored in BCM and PCM do not match. If condition occurs, BCM will set DTC B1015. The SERVICE VEHICLE SOON indicator will illuminate.

Under all fault conditions, a current DTC B1015 requires an ignition cycle to become a history code. If conditions for malfunction no longer exist, history DTC will clear after 100 consecutive ignition cycles. DTC B1015 will also clear when scan tool is used to clear codes.
