DTC B0608: Power MODING Malfunction (IGN/Crank Signal): Description

Instrument cluster receives voltage inputs from 3 different ignition signals. Voltage is sent from IGN0 fuse when ignition switch is in OFF, RUN or START position. Voltage is sent from CLUSTER fuse when ignition switch is in RUN, BULB TEST or START position. Voltage is sent from CRANK SIGNAL fuse when ignition switch is in START position.

DTC B0608 will set when instrument cluster does not see any of the following voltage input conditions for more than 3 seconds:

• If IGN1 is active and IGN0 is inactive.
• If CRANK is active and IGN0 is inactive.
• If CRANK is active and IGN1 is inactive. When DTC B0608 is set, SERVICE VEHICLE SOON indicator light will illuminate.

Under all fault conditions, a current DTC B0608 requires an ignition cycle to become a history code. If conditions for malfunction no longer exist, history DTC will clear after 100 consecutive ignition cycles. DTC B0608 will also clear when scan tool is used to clear codes.
