Door Ajar Indicator Inoperative

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect both door jamb switch harness connectors. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and Gray/Black wire terminals of connectors. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, check Gray/Black wire for open. If wire is okay, check instrument cluster connector C1 for proper connections. See Figure. If connections are okay, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. Measure voltage across door jamb switch connector terminals. If battery voltage is present, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If battery voltage is not present, check for open in Black/White wire(s). Check for proper door jamb switch connector contact. Recheck system operation.
