Indicator Light On, Engine Running With Normal Oil Pressure

  1. Disconnect oil pressure indicator switch. Start engine. If oil pressure warning is still illuminated, go to next step. If oil pressure warning is not illuminated, replace oil pressure switch.
  2. Disconnect instrument cluster connector(s). Using a DVOM, measure resistance between oil pressure input of instrument cluster connector and ground. See Figure. See appropriate WIRING DIAGRAM for wire color and connector terminal. If resistance is less than 3 ohms, locate and repair short to ground. If resistance is greater than 3 ohms, replace instrument cluster.
