Outside Rearview Mirror Will Not Dim

  1. If diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If diagnostic system check was not performed, go to DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
  2. Disconnect Driver Door Module (DDM) connector C5. DDM is located behind left door trim, in center front of door. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using DVOM, check voltage between DDM (component-side) terminals "C" (Pink wire) and "D" (Gray wire). If reading is 0-1.2 volts, go to next step. If reading is not 0-1.2 volts, go to step 4).
  3. Check for open in Pink and Gray wires between DDM and left outside mirror. If circuits are okay, go to step 5). If circuits are not okay, repair as necessary. Perform DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
  4. Check Gray and Pink wires between DDM, rear bussed electrical center (located under right side of rear seat), and automatic day/night mirror. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Check DDM. See appropriate POWER DOOR LOCKS article. Repair as necessary. Perform DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
  5. Replace left outside mirror. See MIRRORS - POWER article. Perform DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
