Diagnostic Procedure

If DTC U1040 is the only code and is stored as a "HISTORY" code, check Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) module connector terminals for poor connections and repair as necessary. See WIRING DIAGRAMS. If multiple DTCs are set, perform Class 2 Data Link Connector System Check. See CLASS 2 DATA LINK CONNECTOR SYSTEM CHECK  under SYMPTOM TESTS. If set with DTC U1255, clear codes using a scan tool and see if code(s) reset.
