Diagnostic Procedure

If DTC U1016 is the only code and stored as a "HISTORY" code, check power, ground and serial data terminals of PCM connector for poor connections and repair as necessary. See WIRING DIAGRAMS. If multiple DTCs are set, perform Class 2 Data Link Connector System Check. See CLASS 2 DATA LINK CONNECTOR SYSTEM CHECK  under SYMPTOM TESTS.
