Diagnostic Trouble Codes: B0533: Description

DTC B0533 is set when IPC determines fuel level input signal is open or shorted to battery voltage. IPC determines this when fuel level input is greater than 299 ohms for more than 2.5 seconds. A class 2 message will be sent to PCM indicating a failure. Fuel gauge pointer will go to its lowest position and low fuel LED will not be illuminated when this code is present.
