Coil Springs & Insulators: Installation
- To retain insulators during installation, apply adhesive to upper insulators and install on underbody. Install lower insulator onto axle assembly. Install spring onto axle assembly, ensuring upper end of spring is within 9/16" (15 mm) of spring end stop located in spring seat. See Fig 1.
NOTE:
Ensure vehicle is at normal riding height before tightening shock absorber lower mounting bolts. See RIDING HEIGHT under ADJUSTMENTS.
- Raise axle assembly into position. Connect shock absorber lower mount to axle assembly, loosely installing bolt. Install brakeline brackets and wheels. Lower vehicle. Tighten shock absorber lower mount bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS table.
