Cylinder Head: Installation

  1. Ensure cylinder head bolt threads and cylinder block holes are clean. Ensure all gasket holes align with cylinder block.
  2. Install cylinder head. Apply GM Sealant (1052080) to head bolt threads and tighten bolts to specification in sequence. Refer to Fig 1.
  3. Tighten bolts an additional 130 degrees in sequence. Tighten center 4 bolts an additional 30° in sequence.
  4. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Coat rocker arm bolts with GM Threadlock (12345493) prior to installation.
