Strut Damper Assembly: Disassembly
- Mount strut damper assembly in strut compressor. Compress strut to approximately 1/2 its height, after initial contact with top cap. DO NOT bottom spring or strut damper rod. Using a No. 50 Torx head socket, hold strut damper rod stationary while removing nut from top of shaft.
- Install Guide Rod (J-34013-27 ) on damper shaft to guide shaft down through bearing cap of upper mount assembly. Slowly loosen strut compressor screw while guiding damper from assembly. Continue to loosen screw until strut damper and spring can be removed.
NOTE:
DO NOT chip or crack spring coating. Coil damage may occur if coating is damaged.
NOTE:
Alignment should be checked after strut installation.
