Control Arm Bushing Replacement
- Remove lower control arm. See LOWER CONTROL ARM section. Prior to removing control arm bushing, tap down flare on lip of bushing using a hammer and punch.
- Install Bushing Service Set (J-21474
) and press out bushing. See Fig 1. Lubricate new bushing prior to installation. Using bushing service set and Flare Tool (J-23915
), install bushing. Tighten nut on flare tool to obtain a 45 degree flare.

- When replacing control arm cradle bushing, use Bushing Service Set (J-21474
) and press out bushing. Lubricate bushing prior to installation. Ensure bushing is fully seated in cradle.
