Suspension - Front (Fwd): Description

The MacPherson strut design front suspension uses lower control arms which pivot from engine cradle on "C" and "H" bodies. The cradle has isolation mounts to body. Control arms contain rubber pivot bushings.

The strut upper end is isolated by a rubber mount containing a bearing for wheel turning. Lower end of steering knuckle pivots on the lower control arm mounted ball joint. Ball joint fits through a tapered bore in the steering knuckle. Tie rods are connected to steering arms on the struts or to steering knuckle.
