Oil Indicator Is Always On

  1. Disconnect oil pressure sending unit. Place ignition switch in "RUN" position. Using a jumper wire, connect Gray wire to ground. If oil indicator goes out, go to step 3).
  2. If not, remove oil light relay. Turn ignition switch to "RUN". If oil indicator is still on, check Tan wire or instrument cluster printed circuit for a short. If oil indicator goes out, check Tan/Black and Gray wires for an open. If wires are okay, replace oil light relay.
  3. Using jumper wire, connect Gray and Pink/Black wires. If oil indicator goes out, replace oil pressure sending unit. If not, check Pink/Black or Black wire for an open. If wire is okay, replace instrument cluster.
