Fuel Gauge Display Is Always Full
- Disconnect fuel gauge sending unit connector (near fuel tank). Using a jumper wire, connect Purple wire on harness side of connector to ground. Place ignition switch in "RUN" position.
- If fuel display reads empty, go to next step. If not, check or repair Purple wire and printed circuit between fuel tank and instrument cluster for an open circuit. If printed circuit and wires are okay, replace instrument cluster.
- Using jumper wire, connect Purple wire and Black (Black/White on some models) wire. If fuel gauge display reads empty, repair or replace fuel gauge sending unit. If not, check or repair Black (Black/White) wire for an open circuit to ground.
