Fuel Gauge Display Is Always Empty

  1. Disconnect fuel gauge sending unit connector (near fuel tank). Place ignition switch in "RUN" position. If fuel display reads full, repair or replace circuit wiring or fuel gauge sending unit.
  2. If fuel gauge display reads empty, check or repair Purple wire and printed circuit between fuel tank and instrument cluster for a short to ground. If printed circuit and wires are okay, replace instrument cluster.
