Fuel Display
The fuel gauge sending unit provides a signal to the instrument cluster that is equivalent to fuel level. With a full tank, the sending unit resistance is 91 ohms. With tank empty, the sending unit resistance is less than 4 ohms.
The microprocessor converts this signal and activates a 21-segment bar graph which displays fuel level. When fuel display bar graph changes from 3 segments to 2, the low fuel warning indicator light comes on.
The 1/4 tank expanded scale is an 11-segment bar graph display. With sending unit resistance at 17 ohms, 1/4 of a tank is shown on gauge. An empty tank is indicated when sending unit resistance reading is less than 4 ohms. When fuel display bar graph changes from 5 to 4 segments, the low fuel warning indicator light comes on.
