Removal ("E" & "K" Bodies)

  1. Raise vehicle on frame contact hoist. Remove wheel. When working on left control arm, disconnect ELC height sensor link (if equipped). On vehicles equipped with anti-lock brake system, disconnect speed sensor from knuckle.
  2. On all models, remove stabilizer bar mounting bolt at strut (if equipped). Remove and support caliper. Remove rotor. Remove hub and bearing assembly.
  3. Loosen outboard knuckle pivot bolt. See Figure . DO NOT remove at this time. Remove strut rod cap, mounting nut, retainer, and upper insulator. Compress strut and remove lower insulator.
  4. Rotate strut and knuckle assembly outward. Remove knuckle pinch bolt. Remove strut from knuckle. Remove knuckle pivot bolt. Remove knuckle from control arm.
