Fuel Display

Voltage from instrument cluster is applied to fuel gauge sending unit. The resistance of sending unit changes with the amount of fuel in tank. With a full tank, resistance is 90 ohms. Resistance for an empty tank is less than 1 ohm.

The information processor is programmed to account for battery voltage changes. Battery voltage changes do not affect fuel gauge reading. When fuel level is very low, the cluster displays "LOW FUEL".
