Fuel Gauge Incorrect
- Unplug fuel gauge unit connector. With ignition switch in "RUN" position, connect voltmeter from socket half of terminal "C" (Pink/Black wire) to ground.
- If battery voltage is present, proceed to next step. If voltage is not present, check and repair Pink/Black wire.
- Connect voltmeter from terminal "C" (Pink/Black wire) to terminal "E" (Black/White wire). If voltage is present, proceed to next step. If voltage is not present, check and repair Black/White wire.
- Connect voltmeter from terminal "C" (Pink/Black wire) to terminal "F" (Purple wire). If voltage is present, proceed to next step. If voltage is not present, check and repair Purple wire.
- Fuel gauge unit connector should remain unplugged. With ignition switch in "RUN" position, enter diagnostics and select BCM data input BD40. Connect a fused jumper from terminal "C" (Pink/Black wire) to terminal "F" (Purple wire).
- Display should indicate approximately 24 and fuel gauge should register "FULL". If BCM data input BD40 displays 17 to 19 and fuel gauge indicates a full tank, replace fuel tank sending unit.
- If BCM data input BD40 displays 17 to 19 and fuel gauge does not indicate a full tank, replace IPC.
- If BCM data input BD40 does not display 17 to 19 and fuel gauge does not indicate a full tank, the BCM should be replaced.
