Charging System Display

The charging system display marked "VOLTS" is located at the far left of the instrument cluster. When the engine is running, bars in the display will light up to indicate the approximate rate of charge to the battery.

The number of bars lit will change as the rate of charge increases or decreases. Other factors such as engine RPM and various accessories being turned on and off will cause charging rate to vary.

When only the bottom Red bar is lit (indicating low charge), the battery symbol next to the display will flash. The message "GENERATOR PROBLEM" may appear in the information center indicating a possible loose or broken belt or the BCM senses the charging rate is too high.
