Fuel Gauge

Voltage from instrument panel is applied to the fuel gauge sending unit. The resistance of fuel gauge sending unit changes with the amount of fuel in tank. With a full tank, the sending unit resistance is 90 ohms. With an empty tank, the sending unit resistance is less than one ohm.

The information processor is programmed to account for battery voltage changes. Changes in battery voltage do not affect fuel gauge reading.
