Shorted Coolant Temperature Switch/Wire Test

Disconnect coolant temperature switch. Place ignition switch in "RUN" position and observe coolant temperature display. If display reads cold, replace coolant temperature switch. If display still reads hot, check Dark Green/Yellow and Light Green wires for a short to ground.
