- Release the bonded rivet connections in the areas (1)
and remove the connecting plate (2)
.
- Remove adhesive residue on the bonding surface (1) of the shock tower. Do not damage the shock tower!
- Prepare areas (1) for a structural adhesive bonding of aluminum to aluminum.
- Remove adhesive residue from all other bonding surfaces.
- Remove adhesive residue from bonding surfaces.
- Seal the hole (1) by MAG weld.
- Drill out holes (2)
to dia. 6.8 mm.
- Prepare area (1) to (4) for the steel-to-steel and steel-to-aluminum structural bonding.
- In the areas (1) and (2) , drill holes of Ø 6.8 mm and transfer to the new part.
- In the area (3) , drill holes of Ø 6.8 mm and transfer to both new parts.
- In the area (4)
, drill out holes to Ø 6.8 mm. Number and position analogous to the flow-drill screws from series production.
- Prepare area (1) for the structural adhesive bonding of steel to aluminum.
- In the areas (1)
, drill holes of Ø 6.8 mm and transfer to the new part.
- Prepare areas (1) and (2) for a structural adhesive bonding of aluminum to aluminum.
- In areas (1)
and (2)
, drill out holes of Ø 6.8 mm and transfer them onto the new part.
- Prepare area (1) for a structural adhesive bonding of steel to aluminum.
- In areas (1)
, drill out holes of Ø 6.8 mm and transfer to the new part.
- Adjust new parts with an alignment bracket or a universal fixture and secure.
- Prepare the reinforcement (1) in areas (2) and (3) for joining by welding.
- In area (3) , prepare MAG welding similarly to series production.
Welding the ground pin and the coarse thread bolt onto the reinforcement of the engine mount
NOTE:
Schematic diagram is for example purposes. Some parts may differ in certain details.
- Take the quantity and position from the component to be replaced.
- Weld the ground pin (1) and coarse thread bolt (2) onto the new part.
- Prepare bonding surfaces.
Preparing the aluminum surface (used part) for bonding
- Remove coarse contamination from the bonding surfaces using solvent cleaner R2.
CONSUMABLE SPECIFICATION
Cleaning agent R2 500 ml 83190417324 - Clean the bonding surfaces using solvent cleaner R1.
CONSUMABLE SPECIFICATION
