When replacing the seat frame of the driver seat: Remount components

- Unlock and disconnect all the plug connections of SMFA control unit (2).
- Unlock the snap-in lugs (1).
- Pull the SMFA control unit (2) forward.
Removing the outer seat rail cover

- Protect working area.
- Handle tools and components carefully.
- Unclip the detents (1).
- Unclip the detent (1) in the arrow direction (2)
- Unclip the detent (3) in the arrow direction (4)
- Remove the outer seat rail cover (5).
Removing front lower strap
- Loosen screw (1).
- Disconnect the connector (2) and unclip the present cable holder.
- Pull out the lower belt (3) and remove.
Removing the fan for the seat surface
Precondition
Front seat is adjusted completely back and upward.
NOTE:
To provide a better overview: Illustration of surrounding parts removed.
- Loosen the attachment points (1).
- Detach detents (2).
- Unlock plug connection (3) and disconnect.
- Feed out the fan (4) for the seat surface.
Installing the fan for the seat surface
Precondition
Front seat is adjusted completely back and upward.
NOTE:
To provide a better overview: Illustration of surrounding parts removed.
- Connect connectors (3) and lock.
- Feed in the fan (4) for the seat surface and position it correctly.
- Attach the detents (2).
- Connect the attachment points (1).
Installing the front lower strap

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Clean all threaded belt connections with micro-encapsulated outer and internal threads.
Shavings or other debris must not remain in the components.
If a microencapsulated screw is reused, it must be coated with the following screw locking agent: Loctite 243, medium strength .
The screw connection must be completed within 10 minutes as hardening begins after this period.

- Insert and position the lower strap (3).
- Replace the screw (1).

- Tighten down screw (1).

- Connect the plug connection (2) and clip in any existing cable clips.

- Correctly position the outer seat rail cover (5).
- Clip in the detents (3) in arrow direction (4).
- Clip in the detents (1) in arrow direction (2).
- Clip in the detents (1).
- Press the SMFA control unit (2) in the holder until the snap-in lugs (1) engage.
- Connect and lock all related connectors of the SMFA control unit (2).
