Replacing wheel carrier

Preliminary work
- Refer to REMOVING REAR BRAKE GUARD PLATE .
- Use the special tool 2 472 903 or 5 A47 6E6 for unscrewing and tightening the spherical-collar screws.
- Remove the spherical-collar screws (arrows).
- Remove wheel bearing (1).

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Keep the connection of the wheel bearing on the wheel carrier clean and free of oil and grease.

- Replace wheel carrier (2).
Parts: Wheel carrier
- Recut the threads for the spherical-collar screws at the wheel bearing (3).
- Clean the contact surfaces (1) of the wheel carrier (2) and the wheel bearing (3).
- Position wheel bearing (1) on the wheel carrier.
- Replace the spherical-collar screws (arrows).
Parts: Spherical-collar screw
- Tighten spherical-collar screws (arrows) crosswise.
TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

| M12 Replace spherical-collar screw. Tighten the spherical-collar screws in crosswise sequence. The tightening sequence must strictly be followed and carried out on all spherical-collar screws at the same time! Initial torque Hand-tighten all spherical-collar screws crosswise. |
