Remove the radial shaft seal for the actuator shaft (ATC 13-1)

WARNING: Working on 12 V electrical system .
Risk of short circuits! Risk of fire!

Make sure that there is no charger connected to the jump start terminal in the engine compartment.
Detach battery ground lead from battery.
For auxiliary batteries: Detach battery minus cables from all auxiliary batteries.

Preliminary work

Refer to DISCONNECTING ALL BATTERY GROUND LEADS .
Refer to REMOVING REAR UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
Refer to REMOVING TRANSMISSION CROSS-MEMBER .

Disconnect plug connection (1).
Release the screws (2) and remove the VTG control unit (3) in the arrow direction.

Screw special tool 0 491 454 (23 0 490) into the radial shaft seal (1).
Drive out the radial shaft seal (1) with an impact weight (2) in the arrow direction.
