Remove the window channel strip from the inner front door

WARNING: Working on 12 V electrical system.
Risk of short circuits! Risk of fire!

Make sure that there is no charger connected to the jump start terminal in the engine compartment.
Detach battery ground lead from battery.
For auxiliary batteries: Detach battery minus cables from all auxiliary batteries.

NOTE: Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.

Release expanding rivet (1) .
Release door well cover (2) from clips (3) .

Release the window recess finisher strip (2) from the clips (1) .

Guide out door well cover (1) from window guide rail (2) .
Guide out and remove door well cover (1) carefully upwards from the door.
