Installing wheel electronics
NOTE:
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
It is absolutely necessary to replace the tire valve to prevent leaks.
Before installing the tire valve: Clean the bore in the wheel rim thoroughly and deburr where required.
It is absolutely necessary to replace the tire valve to prevent leaks.
Before installing the tire valve: Clean the bore in the wheel rim thoroughly and deburr where required.
- Before installation, the wheel electronics (1) must be released from their tight fit on the valve so that they can move freely over the entire angular range.
- Insert the valve insert with the wheel electronics (1) into the cleaned bore in the rim.
The wheel electronics must be on the rim.
- Pay attention to the correct installation position of the wheel electronics (1) in the rim base!
The installation is OK if the wheel electronics (1) rests flat and parallel to the rim base.
The maximum distance between wheel electronics and rim base may be 2 mm.
- Pay attention to the correct installation position of the wheel electronics (1) in the rim base!
The installation is OK if the rear edge of the wheel electronics (1) is in contact with the rim base.
- Replace the union nut (1).
Parts: Coupling nut
- Screw on the union nut (1) manually until it abuts.
- Press the wheel electronics evenly into the rim base.
- Tighten the union nut (1) until the tamper evident ring on the inside breaks. Breakage can be felt and heard.
Then tighten the union nut (1) to torque.
TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONTire valve to wheel rim Replace union nut.
Tighten screw connection in one go.
Do not retighten the screw connection.Tightening torque 8 Nm - Make sure that the wheel electronics rests evenly on the rim even after tightening.
- Mount the tire on the rim.
- The broken pull-off ring (1) can visibly protrude from the union nut after installation. This is normal and depends on various factors including the rim wall thickness.
