Installing the cover for the steering wheel (Sports steering wheel)

- All work on pyrotechnic parts may be carried out by technically experienced and appropriately trained personnel only.
- Replace any damaged part or ones that have been dropped.

NOTE:
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
The steering wheel and horn plate must be replaced if the airbag unit has been deployed.
Check all steering wheel attachments (such as switches, cover, shift paddles, wiring harness) for damage and replace if necessary!

Preliminary work
- Refer to DEACTIVATING THE 48 V ELECTRICAL SYSTEM .
- Refer to DEACTIVATING ELECTRICAL SYSTEM .
- Refer to REMOVING THE AIRBAG UNIT (SPORTS STEERING WHEEL) .
- Refer to IF INSTALLED: REMOVING SHIFT PADDLES FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION .
- Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.
- Unscrew the screws (1) on the back of the steering wheel.
NOTE:
The following step(s) must be performed if the listed component(s) is/are installed.
- After releasing the cover, release, unlock and disconnect plug connection (1) for the steering wheel heating from the holder.
- Carefully release the cover (1) from the detents (A).
- Remove the cover (2).
