Remove control unit bracket

- Make sure that there is no charger connected to the jump start terminal in the engine compartment.
- Detach battery ground lead from battery.
- For auxiliary batteries: Detach battery minus cables from all auxiliary batteries.

Damage to battery terminal, the safety battery terminal or the intelligent battery sensor (IBS) .
Damaged battery terminals can lead to malfunctions or vehicle electrical system faults .

- Detach battery terminal from battery pole by carefully shifting to and fro. Do not pry off using a tool.
Preliminary work
- Refer to DEACTIVATING ELECTRICAL SYSTEM .
- Refer to REMOVING THE ACOUSTIC COVER .
- Refer to REMOVING THE DME CONTROL UNIT .
- Refer to REMOVING THE INTEGRATED POWER SUPPLY MODULE (PDM) .
- Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.
- Unlock connector (2) and disconnect it from the control unit bracket (3).
- Release the clamps (arrows).
- Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.
- Unlock connector and disconnect it from the control unit bracket (3).
- Unlock the lock (arrow).
- Disconnect the cable bracket (1) upwards from the control unit bracket (2).
- Loosen clamp (1).
- Unlock the lock (arrow).
- Feed out the cable bracket (1) upwards and place to one side.
- Loosen screws (1).
- Slide out and remove the control unit bracket (2).
