13 41 500 Replacing idle-speed control valve (S54)

Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit.

Turn off ignition.

Remove intake air manifold. Refer to 11 61 050 REMOVING AND INSTALLING INTAKE AIR MANIFOLD .

Release hose clamps (1) and detach hoses from idle-speed control valve (2).

Unlock plug (3) and detach from idle-speed control valve (2).

Release nuts.

Remove holder (4) together with idle-speed control valve (2).

Installation:

If necessary, install holder (4) with rubber damper on new idle-speed control valve.

NOTE: Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit.

Check stored fault messages.

Rectify faults.

Then clear fault memory.
