WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 BMW M Roadster, 2002 BMW M Coupe, 2001 BMW M Roadster, and 2001 BMW M Coupe. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: Brake fluid is toxic.
Keep brake fluid off painted surfaces of vehicle as brake fluid will damage the finish.

Check fluid level in expansion tank; if necessary, top up brake fluid to Max. marking (1)).

CAUTION: If the fluid level in the expansion tank has dropped to the Min. marking (2), this means that either the brake pads are worn or the brake system is leaking. It is not enough merely to top up the brake fluid. It is absolutely essential to identify what has caused the brake fluid level to drop.
NOTE: It is absolutely essential to rectify any identified faults after consulting the customer and to issue a separate invoice.
