Removal & Installation Steering Wheel)

- Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
- Remove screw from lower steering column trim and remove trim. Pull Orange electrical connector off steering column and disconnect. Using T30 Torx bit with long shank, remove air bag module Torx screws from rear of steering wheel. Lift up air bag module to disconnect wiring connector from rear of module. Put air bag module in a secure area with trim pad (air bag) facing upward.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten air bag module Torx screws to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
- Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
- Insert screwdriver through opening on rear side of steering wheel. See Fig 1. Press down on spring lock and pull out air bag. See Fig 2. Repeat process on opposite side. Pull out air bag and disconnect electrical connectors. Open locks on plugs and disconnect plug connections. Remove air bag. Put air bag module in a secure area with trim pad (air bag) facing upward.
- To install, insert air bag hooks into spring locks and press into steering wheel. Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
