Activating Air Bag System

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 173 other vehicles, including the 2003 Volvo XC90, 2003 Volvo XC70, 2003 Volvo V70, 2003 Volvo V40, and 2003 Volvo S80. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: On Range Rover, after reconnecting battery, turn the steering wheel to full left and right lock (with engine running). This allows DSC system to relearn steering wheel position. Failure to do so will result in a variety of instrument warning lights being illuminated.

Ensure key is removed from ignition switch. Connect positive battery cable and then negative battery cable. Staying well away from air bag modules, turn ignition switch to ON position. Ensure AIR BAG indicator light operates properly. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK .
