Disabling System (Axiom, Rodeo & Rodeo Sport)
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 173 other vehicles, including the 2003 Volvo XC90, 2003 Volvo XC70, 2003 Volvo V70, 2003 Volvo V40, and 2003 Volvo S80. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
When air bag fuse is removed and ignition switch is in ON position, AIR BAG indicator light will be on. This is a normal operation and does not indicate an SRS malfunction.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position and remove ignition key.
- On Axiom, remove SRS-1 fuse from left side dash lower fuse block or disconnect negative battery cable.
- On Rodeo and Rodeo Sport, remove METER and SRS fuses from left side dash lower fuse block, or disconnect battery.
- On all models, WAIT 15 SECONDS before servicing vehicle.
- Disconnect driver's air bag Yellow 2-pin connector located at base of steering column. To disconnect, push in on sides of spring-loaded sleeve and pull on opposite connector. DO NOT pull on wiring. See Figure.
- Remove glove box assembly. Disconnect passenger's air bag Yellow 2-pin connector located behind glove box assembly.
